"Judge Not Lest You Be Judged"

I agree that I can be insulting

I am told that I am revolting

And it is said that I am an ass

I argue that I am combative

I dare you to say I am threatening

Because I think I have balls of brass

I can smell,  I use foul language

I can be seen scratching my butt

Because I have no class

I used to have long hair

I would say things that others would not dare

They say it is because I smoke so much grass

Now,  before you judge me for what I say, and what I do

Remember,  do not throw stones

If you live in a house of glass

This is a poem of self appraisal with a strong dose of honesty thrown in. I am particularly drawn to the line "because I have no class", which gives the reader a lot to think about. What does this mean? Here in the UK it often refers to our idiotic class system where people use expressions such as " he has no social breeding at all" or "he is so common". Throughout my life I have heard these remarks from the sententious and condescending who themselves think they belong to a strata in society which places them above the rest of us. From experience I have met many with "no class" and have found that where class is lacking it has been well compensated with a fine intellect. To write a poem such as this shows a class of courage and honesty which I welcome.
Well said and well written
By the way I do have class!!!!!!!!!

A strong message from a vulnerable person. But indeed a lesson taught.?
