Ads on TV

interrupting our viewing and our pleasure

in the old days we had free TV

now we have expensive Cable

which originally was supposed to be ad-free

but instead we have more ads than ever

you can leave the room

and when you come back

the ads are still running

most so dumb they insult your intelligence

and most are about drugs or medications

and then there is the infamous Internet

where again, ads are becoming too common

advertisements crop up

uninvited and unexplained

who asked for then

who said it was all right for them to barge into

your life and your computer

we pay for the internet too

so why do we have to put up with it

I want to go back to pen and ink

where there were no ads

and you did not need a paper Provider

where you never received that dreaded popup

your connection has been lost

try back later.
