WEED
Oh weed
through yonder sidewalk breaks
it won't hold back
thru crack it makes
its stab at life
in an odd place
weeds thrive on air
it's all it takes.

I enjoyed the Shakespearean opening!
Terse and true. I've been intrigued by the separation of growing things defined by the use of the word "weed". My dictionary tells me that it is "A wild herb growing where it is
not wanted". That seems as accurate as
anything to describe its place in our tidy
cultivated world. But Is a dandelion less
valuable than a tulip to nature?
