Speakeasy Competition
Speakeasy – Milton Keynes’ Writers’ Group, has launched ‘The Speakeasy Open Creative Writing Competition 2010’, and are now looking for submissions; and with £350 in prize money, maybe it’s time for you to get writing?
As usual, there are two categories – ‘Poems’, to a maximum of 60 lines, and ‘Short Story’, to a maximum of 2100 words. Whether you are submitting a poem or a short story, it must be your own work and not have been published or won a prize previously or be entered simultaneously in any other competition. Work must be in English and be accompanied by a signed entry form and the correct entry fee: £3 per poem or four for £10, or £4 per short story or three for £10.
Prizes in each category are – First Prize £100, Second Prize £50, and Third Prize £25, and the closing date is 31st October 2010.
