IMHO

We don't think you ought to do that.
               "Tell me what to do!"
We don't think you should feel like that.
               "Tell me what to feel!"
You should know that there's always a way forward.
               "Show me where to go!"
You should be stronger than that.
               "Show me how."

We've decided you can cope if you try.
"You don't know what it's like."
We've decided we aren't going to let you die.
"Then show me how to live!"
We've decided you can get on with your life.
               "There's nothing left."
We've decided you should be over it now.
               "But it hasn't ended."

Take my advice, "Chin up and all of that."
               "But I have no mouth."
Take my advice, "Time will heal all hurts."
"But time just makes it worse."

Yes! Even when they are right - it's not always right. You did a beautiful work in capturing the moment we all have been in and the fog of agony - the confusion of pain and the well meaning help that's not always helpful.

Thank you for your comment Ghazala ?. I wasn't sure if anyone would know the acronym IMHO but you clearly do. ?

Thank you for your comment Kevin ?. Yes, this does try and capture the pressure of other people's expectations and ill-fitting advices. Along with Catatonia and many of the other poems it still amazes me how I was able to compose explanations from the centre of the struggle. Thank you, I am past those problems now and built off of the experiences.

Thanks also to everyone who has clicked 'Like' for this poem ?

To me this is a poem that details how people are all too ready to offer advice, but they don't always know the full extent of the problem.
Either that or they tell you what to do, without explaining how.
These people are well-meaning, but can be more frustrating than helpful. Indeed they can become part of the problem.

Hope you are well.

Cheers Kevin
