Genesis
Thank you to all those who have stayed interested in the love's tempest poetry I am currently posting.
We jump forward in time a little bit, 8 or 9 months or thereabouts, and have some new themes coming up;
self-love, compassion, safety from the storm, and star crossed love
but they don't need deep introductions.
The next poem in love's tempest is, as the blog title suggests:
Genesis
Such a long time has passed
In only ten days,
Compared to the four years
That were just one night.
The whole world is a friendlier, safer place,
Now that I'm at peace with myself.
Serenity flowers from within,
Where before, thorned weeds curled.
And pleasant humour begins,
From the ashes where cynicism burned.
Belief in yourself is the hardest.
Trust in yourself is the hardest.
Accepting chance, befriending time,
Giving yourself a life.
So much ground has been made
In just one step,
Compared to the miles spent
Of chasing my tail.
There's no fear of risking possible hurt,
Now that I know I'll defend myself.
Befriending yourself is the hardest.
Accepting yourself is the hardest.
Trusting in life,
Believing in time,
Giving yourself a chance.

Thank you Nigel for your poetic response.
Being believed in
Helps us believe in ourselves,
But even if the whole world
Acts with doubts and disbelief
And mistaken mistrust
We should doubt the rest of the world
Because we are closest to our own truth
And even we don't know everything that we can do.
