Re Cur ing dReaM
Drifting round the star lit sky
Looking down and wonder why
I’m gliding round and looking down
On rooftops and surrounding ground
I’ve sprouted wings like superman
With twists and loops I rocket round
And sit on dizzy edges high
With wings folded by my side
All is now just black and white
Washed by the moons eerie light.
The dreamscape I look down upon
Changes like chameleons
The dream I’m in familiar lines
Repeats itself from time to time
Sometimes it ends in landing soft
And others crashing through the loft
And then appears just in range
A technicolour shape that changes
No eyes no face no mouth or nose
It seems to be just one of Those
Where’s it from, it’s always there
Does it comfort does it scare
I seems to not be there for me,again
Perhaps a guide for other men
I stretch to touch the billowing form
But out of reach it shifts like storms
That boil and froth in distant sky
It’s fleeting flash before my eye.
It’s been there since The age of 4
Brooding by the schoolroom door.
Visiting from time to time
The answer I will never find
