Today we are in Gibraltar 
otherwise known as the rock
We headed into the small town 
a short walk from the cruise port dock 

We walked through the British Main Street 
along to the cable car stop
It only took us around six minutes
until we reached the top

Once up there you can see for miles 
there’s a glass walkway for the brave
Also there are Barbary macaques
with which I had a close shave 

I took a photograph of one
he came after me so swiftly
Grabbed hold of my bag from behind 
my husband scared him off quickly 

We went down to Saint Michael's Cave
which is my kind of place to go
Stalactites and stalagmites 
transformed by a magical light show

With my fear of heights and those apes 
my nerves are well and truly shot 
Now safely back on board ship 
I order myself a brandy tot 

It was a good day after all
my husband thinks it quite funny
He often chuckles to himself 
about my brush with that monkey
