All About Football

Go into any town in Texas

and they will tell you

about their high school football team

in Texas it's all about football

they're darn proud of their hometown team

and turn out big every Friday night

bright lights shining

the parking lot full

pom poms

marching bands

the stands full of parents

pumped up and screaming their heads off

you don't have to ask

what the team's name is

just see the water tower.

Sounds great, d. Are you a male or a female? I am guessing male. Nice poem, it captures the atmosphere well.

These lines bring to mind a 1970s visit to Louisiana when I was
taken by the US family to a local football game. I got a bit
confused trying to work out what was going on (like Americans
with cricket, I imagine), but the atmosphere alone was worth the
effort. Loved the razzamatazz!! ?
