Covid Blues

So Covid finally got me
my test registered a fine line
I have a bit of a headache
but in general, I feel fine

Confined to the house for a while
wondering how to spend my time
I guess I should write some poems
short verses with rhythm and rhyme

What should I choose to write about
always the most difficult part
It’s hard to find a new subject
and I wonder where I should start

I guess the topic of the day
is the Coronavirus news
I’m not sure folk will want to read
all about my pandemic blues

Now I’m searching for ideas
looking for some inspiration
A cause to put pen to paper
and spark my imagination

I should sort all my paperwork
and clean my house bottom to top
Clear all my clobber and clutter
gift it to the charity shop

I’m thinking that all the above
can wait for at least one more day
My lockdown time will be best spent
waiting for words to drift my way

Thank you for the kind comments and likes and for the get well messages. Stephen A, hoping I won’t be isolating that long. Although last night I noticed my website blog had reached 666 posts, maybe there’s something in that!! I could combine them all into a Covid Book Of Nonsense😁

Julie, just write something like Homer's Odyssey or Dante's inferno, but with a regional slant...I'll wait.
☺️ Hope you're ok, & whatever you write will be as superb as always! 🌈

Sorry to hear, Julie. If you feel you can't write, read some poetry, and inspiration may come your way!
