Morpheus

Like wresting a melody

out of debris, theย

attempt to make sense

of all the myths

Morpheus weaves;

pearls in shells

are little trouble,ย

but what of demons

and cadavers eager

to meander, to dance

on a blood-drawn map

still dripping, atย

that spellbound hour

of witching?

I'm slightly ashamed to admit that this first took me back to the Rocky Horror Show - "Flow, Morpheus, Flow...."

Thanks, Holden. Fascinating piece of verse.

I love the simile of 'wrestling a melody out of debris'. It conjour an interesting mental picture. A fascinating poem. Thank you, Holden.
