Whingers
It puts things into perspective:
Legions of the brave stand and fight
Death and destruction in Ukraine,
While this end whingers demonstrate
Against a simple covid jab
Or wearing a mask on a train.

Suspicion about "control" of our lives takes various forms. But
with something like an unseen and proven deadly disease, it is
perhaps best "to err on the side of caution", not least in confined
places - and respect the existence of the "idiot factor" that some folk possess.
They're not still doing that, are they? (You really should stay off those far-right websites, Brian)

Surely it's all about freedom...isn't it? And standing up for freedom.
I would make them work a month on a Covid ward.
I quite agree. Things have been some perspective recently, Stephen, and certain people need to get a grip ( and a mask!)

Thanks to everyone (MC, Greg, Leon and the two Johns) for their comments on this poem. I respect everyone's freedom of choice but, of course, such "choices" have consequences e.g. prolonging a pandemic and infecting other people. And in our tolerant liberal democracy (thank goodness for that) people generally have the luxury of making such choices, whatever the consequences. So sometimes choice must be restricted for the common good (e.g. mask mandates). Nothing illiberal about that.
People in Ukraine have very little choice at the moment. They have to fight for their freedom, for the sake of the common good.
Thanks to Stephen A, Julie, Rudyard and Clare for liking.
