Role Reversal
As we grow old
we become more passive
more submissive
our kids are now smarter
than we are
how do we know?
they tell us
they have taken over
our role as parents
now correct us
in our thinking
tell us what to do
and how to do it
and so we go
into second childhood
with our kids now
the adults in the room
we, just hoping not to offend
hoping not to get into trouble
hoping not to end up in a corner
reflecting on
the error of our ways.
