Right Here, Right Now
This mornings chilly wind has passed
and the sun has got it’s hat on
Nice to feel the warmth on my face
very soon I begin to yawn
The radio in the background.
plays songs from many years ago
Bringing back childhood memories
people and places I used to know
The wild birds come to feed and drink
blackbirds, robins, finches and tits
They peck away at the seeds and nuts
just a metre from where I sit
The suns glow makes me sleepy
and soon I drift off into a dream
I awake to the kind offer
of a mini magnum ice cream
Relaxing here in the garden
whilst the wild birds chatter away
There’s no place where I’d rather be
a perfect place to spend today
