A TRIBUTE TO MARY LEE

It`s time to share a few words

About a loved one whom has passed away

Someone so special

That I wish forever she were here to stay

Words do not come easy when I am trying to express

Everything Mary Lee meant to me

And how losing her will leave me in distress

She was so much more than just a sister to me

Mary Lee was everything I would have wanted

My very best friend to be

Mary Lee always left me laughing

She enjoyed a good joke

Many times together, fun at each other we would poke

Mary Lee, what would you say

If you were consoling me now?

Whatever it is, you would get me through somehow

Your death is a hard pill to swallow

Thank-you for all the lessons you have given me to follow

I will miss you, your loss leaves my heart hollow

The poet has written a lament and a tribute from a heart wreathed in sorrow. The tone of the poem is sincere and honest and the writer asks questions of himself. The last line reminds me of someone losing a partner after many years of marriage, in saying that a part of me has gone, never to be regained. Only memories can now be cherished.
Sorrow so very well described with beauty woven into each line and word.
Thank you for this
Keith
