Thanks for your comments, Isobel, Steve, Graham, and Flyntland, and for the Likes, Nigel, Frederick, N.B, JC, Julie, and Holden. It is said that betting on the collapse of the pound - which makes the rest of us poorer - has made the main beneficiaries of Kwasi Kwarteng's budget even richer. Just fancy that! (It makes me feel a little, well, kweasi)
This country is built on the backs of the poor - it has always been so - trickle down is a myth.
It may cause another overheating of the housing market, Graham! PS But looking at this comment a few days on, it doesn't seem like the housing market is going to overheat at all ... quite the reverse, in fact.

It's a sad day for this country when a government can be so out of touch with the plight of its people, that it thinks it ok to roll out a budget like that.
Yes it does rather take us into the realm of science fiction - it's so ghastly , it's unbelievable.

I usually change two of the three-word slogans, depending on what is currently in vogue, but 'Take back control!' never changes!
