HE, 29 Others And Me

Yesterday I woke up in London
we arrived late the night before
We had a good reason to be there
but still a little unsure

On Tuesday morning this week
I received an email out of the blue
It said I had won a competition
which I couldn’t believe was true

I thought it was some sort of scam
so I phoned up to check it out
They told me I had definitely won
and I shouldn’t have any doubt

It was all a bit mysterious
it was for a playback and Q&A
I asked if HE would be there
but they wouldn’t confirm either way

So we decided to take a gamble
and headed down London way
I checked the details a thousand times
we had the right time and right day

We arrived at the secret venue
then they told us HE won’t be here
I turned to my friend with a frown
and admit I nearly shed a tear

Led into a small cinema room
just thirty of us in all
We settled into the comfy seats
surrounded by sound proof walls

It started to feel a little strange
just what were we doing in this place
Then they announced that HE was here
well the look on everyone’s face!

We whooped and cheered like crazy ladies
as HE walked into the room
HE was right here, right now
not on a screen via zoom

We watched and listened carefully
as he chatted about his life
From the early dark days
to finding happiness with his wife

I wonder by now if you have guessed
just who this HE could be
Well…. In that room there was Mr Robbie Williams
29 others and me
