I’ve found a temporary solution 
to the persistent cost of living blues
I’ve filled my house with decorations  
stocked up on the batteries that they use

Now my house is looking warm and cosy 
even though the thermostat is down low 
Thanks to all the battery powered lights 
my home is radiant with festive glow
