William's First Nativity

The camel was played by a lovely lad,

Who drew one’s eye and stole the show!

He found fascination with a donkey’s ears,

Jiggling them happily, up and down.

He just wouldn’t let them go!

It turned out that the donkey was kind,

And really didn't seem to mind!

The camel, in rhythm, danced a merry jig

To Christmas songs, around the infant king,

Holding his tune, in the songs he had to sing.

He paid due homage to the Holy Child,

Bowing down low, as the audience went wild!

“Mary and Joseph were perfectly fine.

The three wise men all played good parts,

But the Oscar goes to… William the Camel,

Who plucked on the bowstrings of our hearts!”

Lovely that.
I remember my solo of "We three Kings fom Orient Tar" -or words to that effect- at primary school. Not a clue what the words meant!
Well done William!

Thanks so much for your lovely comments Kimberly, Stephen and Julie. Yes, it was fabulous, Julie. A real treat! 😁
I think the technical term for William is "bit-part menace," Stephen 😂
Thanks for the likes Stephen A and Flyntland 👍

Who could not like this, John? It sounds like a star turn from your grandson.
Oh, the innocence and the memories of times like this!
