NEW YEAR'S REVOLUTION
This year will be different
I'll get my act together
pretend that there's no misery in the world
at least not in mine.
For a start i'll check the house for intruders,
after the all clear probably go out
into that perfect place
the neighbourhood.
Preserve all dignity be prepared,
nothing will happen that I can't supervise
control, manipulate, approve of,
my own fate under constant surveillance.
Most importantly, i'll try to smile more
at strangers, who will appreciate it,
they always do so it's said,
each day i'll add another dimension
an intention to fulfil some vast promise to myself,
that will be my new year's revolution.

Thanks for your likes Frederick, John, Hugh,Holden, K.Lynn, Flyntland and Helene.
The system of commenting and responding makes the site go round Uilleam and when joining I was very proactive, and its good you extend the welcomes!
Graham, how true, it can be annoying and I know several who have the rictus irrespective of what they might be feeling. When I joined showbusiness it was pointed out to me that smiling was de rigeur. Didn't work for me.
Yes, keep that long face Stephen. Or maybe on with the masks again.
