George Orwell, where art thou?

The rain came from

the wrong direction.

That figures.

Compassion is prohibited.

It’s a hate march

if they don’t like

what you’re saying.

The pantomime villains

who would prosecute

King Wenceslas

and the poor man

gathering winter fuel.

From 'snowflake'

to 'extremist'

in just a few years.

"A solution of sorts"? I am old enough to recall the various
episodes in this sorry Middle East tale, that includes the
murder of a prominent Jewish leader and Egypt's Sadat along
the way. Today's situation is based upon a number of factors
that includes Israel's determination not to be placed in some
sort of limbo by a non-negotiable style of savage assault
amidst a plethora of Arab interests that have no record of
what we might consider "democratic" principles.

Thanks Greg.

MC, a solution of sorts came close to being ironed out a few years ago.
Unfortunately Netanyahu and his fellow fascists with whom the UK and the US are now the best of pals, didn't want that solution, and so they encouraged Hamas to frustrate the efforts of peacemakers...and here we are.

I don't know what the solution is to the Israel/Palestine question. What I do know is that it is not continual war.

Thanks for this poem, Greg.

The image of Wencelas tried by Braverman and co. for the crime of giving alms is a powerful one indeed.

Thanks for your reactions, Graham and MC, to my rather confused outpouring. Tbh, I'm not sure what to say.

The irony of those placed historically in the so-called "Holy Land"
who are at each others' throats at every turn is painful. Is co-existence really beyond their mental and physical abilities without the rest of the world having to act to achieve some sort
of long lasting solution?

How quickly themes across the world escalate onto our doorsteps.
Leadership is a very thin and fragile rein, so easily broken.
