Zip it, Hotovely!
No, Board of Deputies of British Jews,
you do not speak for her;
neither does the tool-maker’s son,
he does not speak for her;
nor you, Hotovely, you don’t speak for her…
…for that brave Jewish lady with a conscience
whose family died in The Holocaust,
who, in London, engaged in peaceful protest,
was harassed, arrested and detained
for twenty-four hours by a bored-stiff Ploddess
who had bugger all else to occupy her time,
but to hurt that lady’s arms with her handcuffs.
No, Board of Deputies of British Jews,
You do not speak for them;
Neither do you, the tool-maker’s son,
You do not speak for them;
nor you, Hotovely, you don’t speak for them…
…for the anti-zionist Jews of the Torah,
attacked in Jerusalem by baton wielding thugs
because they displayed solidarity with Palestinians;
you don’t speak for Jews protesting removal
of Palestinian flags in Mea Shearim,
and you don’t speak for me, because my heart is breaking,
you speak for Netanyahu whose heart’s made of stone.
You speak for illegal occupation and genocide,
You speak for the killing of innocent babes,
You speak for the hate that burned the whole world,
For whose victims we’ve just held a two-minute silence,
On whose sacred memories you’ve chosen to spit,
So, zip it, dear Rabbis,
And zip it, you Tool,
Please zip it, Hotovely,
Just zip it,
Just go.

My encyclopaedia informs me that "Palestine" is derived from
"Philistine" and that the latter were a people that originated
from Crete to settle on the coastal plain at about the same time
that the people of Israel were arriving from the east. Philistine
superiority in materials used for weaponry, together with their use of chariots and military form of government, made them a serious threat to the Israelites. A period of acute antagonism
was brought to an end by David's "unchallengeable superiority" - living relatively peacefully apart from
occasional incidents, until the Philistines disappeared as "an
independent entity" (quote).
Now...fast forward a couple of thousand years...!! Fascinating
stuff in its commentary on the present far from clear situation
so deeply dipped in ancient history.
