Misconception or Misguidance

I have frequently encountered individuals who hold the belief that both Islam and Quran possess the extraordinary power to influence and manipulate the human mind. This perspective is shared not only by those who do not actively practice Islam, but also by individuals who do not identify as Muslims. However, I have found myself perplexed by the notion of this alleged brainwashing.

As someone whose native language is not Arabic, I have dedicated myself to diligently studying the Quran and its intended meaning since my teenage years.

Over time, I have gradually grasped the profound essence of God. While I was already familiar with the term "God" prior to delving into the Quran, I lacked the ability to truly define or elucidate this concept. It was only through the Quran that I acquired a comprehensive understanding of God, encompassing both the visible and invisible aspects of His creation. Consequently, the Quran has effectively purged my mind of any misconceptions that may have arisen due to my limited knowledge about our Creator. This transformation has undoubtedly been for the better. By attaining a complete understanding of my Creator, I have been able to cultivate profound love, unwavering worship, utmost respect, and sincere supplication towards Him, while also harboring a reverential fear of His wrath and anger.

As a result, I have remained unharmed. I have learned to cherish His creation and exhibit respect towards my fellow human beings, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, financial status, education, or cultural differences.

This knowledge has allowed me to empathize with individuals from diverse backgrounds, whether they be Chinese, Japanese, Italian, African, Malay, Filipino, or any other nationality.

Upon immersing myself in the Quran, I have gained profound insight into the purpose of our existence. Prior to this, I had been grappling with the complexities of life and death, sorrow and pain, illness and misfortune. However, the verses of the Quran have dissipated the haze from my mind, enabling me to perceive things with unparalleled clarity. I now comprehend that our presence on this Earth serves a significant purpose, rather than a trivial one. Had I not delved into the depths of the Quran, my quest for purpose would have remained an endless pursuit in this vast realm.

Through my deep exploration of the profound wisdom found within the Quran, I have gained invaluable insights into the virtues of benevolence, empathy, humility, sincerity, devotion, trust, and optimism. By embracing these noble qualities, as prescribed in the sacred scripture, I have not only experienced personal growth but have also exuded these virtues in my outward demeanor.

This newfound understanding allowed me to empathize with the struggles and hardships faced by others, offering a compassionate hand whenever needed, while completely shedding any trace of arrogance, self-centeredness, or pride. This spiritual journey has purged the darkness within me, transforming me into a refined and compassionate individual.

The Quran is replete with exquisite illustrations that have greatly contributed to my holistic development as a well-rounded human being.

Immersing oneself in the depths of the Qur'an, with a profound understanding, bestows upon the soul a transformative purification, unlocking the gateway to the divine essence of God's magnificent creation. It is futile to entertain the notion that one could be negatively impacted, for in reality, it is an exquisite voyage of catharsis for the heart, soul, and intellect, as one engages with the sacred verses of the holy Qur'an.
