2024: Trev does another National Poetry Month in Texas and NaPoWriMo: Part 6 Midland to Edinburg
Image: On the way to Nianna's in Edinburg after meeting up with Clark in McAllen, couldn't resist taking this pic of the two bikers while we were at the traffic lights which seem to last a while on red, compared to UK traffic lights
16.04.24 – 107:76) Departure day, for The Valley I’m away
Dressed, car stowed, I’m on the road
Low speed limits than 75 I think “Yay” now let those miles roll away
Goin’s good then a detour a few miles more
No need for dismay, GPS tells me the way
Ozona for breakfast an’ then, I’m on the familiar I10
Goin’s good then is seen, the need for gasoline
I see some price looks fine three dollars nine
I think well bless, compared to the next one it’s 20 cents less
Fill up then run through San Antonio
GPS tells the way an’ I find, soon it’s behind
Drive goin’ fine 281 almost a straight line
Last coffee stop an’ it’s only a short hop
To Clarks where the welcome really went down
Sayin “The Rhymey Limey’s back in town”.
108:77) To Nianna’s where I shall dwell findin’ out Sooty’s* not well
Made me frown, vet had said “put her down”
Nianna said “damn the vet I ain’t givin’ up yet”
Over dinner with Amy we made a plan which included the Yorkshire Man
Then back to Nianna’s we head, an’ for me a welcoming’ bed
* Sooty is one of Nianna's seven cats, she is over 18 years old and a real charmer
