Heaven Calling

entry picture

Its been a year since you have been around
I miss your vibe and your voices sweet sound
My life is empty and my world is in pain
Waiting for you to walk through the door again
I live in hope one day at a time
My head full of memories so sublime
Your smile lit up the heavens above
Your heart was so full of unconditional love

Call me when you get to heaven
Let me know that you're okay
Call me when you get to heaven
Anytime night or day
Call me when you get to heaven
I need to believe that it's for real
Call me when you get to heaven
Tell me darling how you feel

My days are empty and my nights are long
One step at a time I soldier on
The past engulfs me the future is unknown
Lonely and forlorn this world I roam
Waiting for a shining light to guide my way
Searching for an  answer come what may
An empty shell I barely survive
Broken and wounded more dead than alive

Call me when you get to heaven
Let me know that you're okay
Call me when you get to heaven
Anytime night or day
Call me when you get to heaven
I need to believe that it's for real
Call me when you get to heaven
Tell me darling how you feel
Call me call me any old time
Call me Call me
Give a sign

Such a beautiful and heartfelt tribute to one who's passed. The dilemma of the vacancy of her absence is portrayed so well it is easily a shared experience.
Excellent poem Tom

"Call me when you get to heaven
Let me know that you're okay..."
Touching and readily recalled...ideal for a country song lyric.
