The President You Deserve
Turn out in November, don’t hesitate;
Sit on your hands and it may be too late.
Scruples don’t mean you just sit and observe,
If you want the President you deserve.
Though candidates will never be ideal,
The better one seeks to rally and heal.
To occupy the White House is to serve,
Choose wisely the President you deserve.
Respect for democracy and its ways
Should be the watchword for each hundred days.
Truth and justice won’t fall behind the curve,
If you back the President you deserve.
Vote for the person who respects the law,
Reject the one who’s rotten to the core.
Put a cross by the choice who’ll hold their nerve
Rely on the President you deserve.
And don’t stay at home or lie in your bed,
For your pick may not be so far ahead.
A crooked opponent lurks in reserve,
And you’ll get the President you deserve!

Good point, Uilleam. It won't be all plain sailing. In the end, I can't believe that America will vote for Trump a second time, but for Harris to win voters have to turn out, put aside scruples about issues like Gaza and not waste their vote on fringe parties (or the republicans!).
The title comes from a book about Bill Clinton, a sleazeball who wasn't a bad President. Unfortunately, Trump will be both.
Hugh, Stephen. K Lynn, Manish, Rudyard and Max for liking this.
