Star-Crossed Hearts

entry picture

She was poetry, a dance in the air
Moving lightly, like a verse floating there
Hair in the wind, unpretentious lines
Her smile illuminated cloudy times
He, a simple man, lived raw prose each day
With calloused hands, unaware of the way
Life in bold letters, beauty lost in the grind
Chapters predictable, meaning hard to find
At the craft fair, a sun shining bright
He watched from afar, not knowing her light
Laughter and gestures, verses unread
An instant connection, worlds left unsaid
A coffee invitation, the door swung wide
Hesitant, he accepted, unaware of the ride
She spoke of art, of nature, of rhyme
While he shared his struggles, the weight of time
She quoted poets, strange names in her flow
He smiled, enchanted, admiring her glow
One golden afternoon, she led him to the park
The sunset, a metaphor, igniting a spark
“You need to learn to see,” she said with grace
“Pay attention; there’s poetry in every place.”
Intrigued, he felt the truth start to grow
In simplicity, a new world began to show
Weeks passed, life enriched with new sights
Beauty in laughter, in games, and in lights
A fresh illumination brightened his view
Colors and sounds began to break through
One night under stars, he gathered his heart
“You are the poetry I never could start.”
She smiled, knowing the magic they shared
That love’s essence thrived, no words were declared
He then understood, the most beautiful read
Was the connection, not just what was said
In simplicity, they found the thread
In moments together, a flame was fed
One day, with courage, he grabbed a blank page
Wrote of the sky, her laughter, a stage
Short phrases, sketches from deep in his soul
Beauty through her eyes, a new sense of whole
“You’re learning to read,” she said with a cheer
He smiled, a new world beginning to appear
A language of love, where letters fade away
But the meaning beats strong in the heart’s ballet
In the months that followed, they taught one another
She showed him the beauty, he taught her to wonder
A story they penned without heavy words
Full of life and laughter, like songs of the birds
And so, as partners, they crafted a sphere
Where poetry thrived, even without cheer
She, pure poetry; he, a poet of the ground
In the everyday life, their own song they fou
