every morning,
a parade of perfect lives,
smiles meticulously adjusted,
breakfast that looks more like a work of art,
but deep down,
it's just granola and a desperate hunt for likes.

people transform into characters,
each post a script,
each photo a scene,
life in shining squares
where reality dissolves like sugar in water.

hashtags dance on the screen,
like confetti at a birthday party,
but the truth is no one is invited
to the human experience,
everyone is busy
in the chase for validation.

messages are stray bullets,
a “how are you?” that gets lost
in the echo of notifications,
while the real world
continues outside,
ignoring the performance of the virtual stage.

and I, amid filters and apps,
try to find a fraction of authenticity,
but everything feels so rehearsed,
so distant from the genuine chaos
that is being human.

who needs connection
when life is merely a feed,
a mosaic of perfectly staged moments,
where truth is the last to leave,
and everyone applauds,
unaware that the curtain is about to fall?

Arrianna, the people increasingly dumbed down by a screen...

Uilleam, a tense situation! It’s amazing how some people become so immersed in their screens that they forget what’s happening around them.

Thanks Eduardo.
Only yesterday I was walking along the pavement, when right in front of me, a woman, obediently nose to screen, stepped off the pavement and narrowly missed being flattened by the bus from which I had just alighted! The driver sounded his horn, which startled me, but she never even flinched!
