Do you remember the good old days gone by.

Do you remember the days we only smiled.

Do you remember we would socialise with each other’s friends.

Do you remember on each other we could depend.

 

Do you remember when we made passionate love at night.

Do you remember when we had no need or wish to fight.

Do you remember the foreign lands on holidays in the sun.

Do you remember when for each other we were the only ones.

 

Do you remember when there was no bitching and no bad words.

Do you remember when we spoke and each other heard.

Do you remember when we dreamed, and we made our plans.

Do you remember when we would touch each other with a caring hand.

 

Do you remember when we believed the world was ours to take.

Do you remember when from each other there was never a reason to ever want to break.

Do you remember the vows we made to the man of God.

Do you remember when we got married, we both believed we had the lot.

 

Do you remember when problems we had were lovingly shared.

Do you remember what happened to each other mattered because we truly cared.

I remember all this even though it didn't last very long, what I don't remember is where and when it went wrong.

Now we live as each to their own in our home, and to each other we will never again belong.
