A Year on the Edge of Tomorrow
The year drew on, a big wheel in the flow,
Marking the moments where change began to show.
Machines grew louder, their thoughts took flight,
Shaping a future both shadowed and bright.
On lunar plains, where footprints are few,
A woman stood, gazing at Earth’s vibrant hue.
The stars bore witness to progress and dreams,
While fusion ignited impossible schemes.
The skies roared with fury, the oceans did rise,
Nature’s lament in the storms and the skies.
Yet nations gathered, despite their divide,
To kindle a flame in the gathering tide.
New bonds were formed, powers intertwined,
In regions where conflict and tension aligned.
Youth marched for forests, the rivers, the air,
Their voices a force against apathy's snare.
In labs and clinics, hope grew strong,
With CRISPR rewriting what disease had made wrong.
The right to rest was finally recognised,
And the quest for balance returned to daily life.
Yet shadows remain, in the East, in the West,
Where tensions run high and alliances test.
The climate, relentless, reminds us each year,
That action is needed, its message is clear.
The world stands poised at a fragile divide,
A hopeful ascent or a perilous slide.
The past is our teacher, the future our choice,
And 2025 calls us to raise our desperate voice.
