Whatever happens...

After all the hardships that I’ve been through

And the distress that I’ve encountered,

And the miseries that I have suffered,

And the pains that have surmounted.

After all the hurdles I’ve jumped over,

And the walls that I have climbed,

After all my disappointments,

And those dreadful troubled times.

After all the dreams that have not come true,

And all those ambitions unfulfilled,

And those moments when I felt alone,

And those bridges I failed to build.

But though life may be harsh and cruel,

I know that there is still always hope,

And whatever happens in this world

I know that I shall cope.

Dear Stuart,
I just wanted to take a moment to truly commend you on your poem "Whatever Happens...". Your words are a beautiful testament to resilience and hope in the face of adversity. The way you capture the weight of life's hardships—yet still hold on to the belief in hope and strength—is both moving and inspiring. The progression of struggles and disappointments, followed by the uplifting recognition of inner resilience, speaks to a universal truth that many can relate to. It's a reminder that, no matter what challenges we face, we can endure and keep moving forward. And as Uilleam correctly puts it: "Don't let the illegitimate grinding get you down!"
Thank you for sharing such a deeply personal and empowering piece of writing. You've managed to turn personal trials into a message of enduring strength, and that's a gift in itself.
Regards,
Rolph

Bravo, Stuart.
It's not the destination, but the journey, from which we learn life's lessons.

Nil illegitimum carborundororum desperandum!😉
