Another Day

Another Day

Failing to hold onto the night,

We spiral toward another day.

Ageless sun directs its might,

Throwing dawn into the fray.

Chaotic animation spurred

From peaceful restoration.

Abandoned nests of man and bird,

Turn cold from separation.

Voices raised at dawn’s command,

Alert the world to rise.

A gradual warming of the land,

Commands we seek our prize.

Chase your tail to gain reward,

Before the shadows fade.

Join the race and run toward

The wheel where games are played.

When all efforts leave you spent,

Return to dark’s repose.

Tomorrow, we must pay the rent,

Think on, before you doze.
