Was it fate, or was it choice?

In shadows of what we once shared,
I search for answers, night and day.
Was it fear, or was it pride,
That led you to stray?
Or did our love simply die?

Your silence spoke volumes, loud and clear,
A message I couldn't help but hear.
Our bond, once strong and true,
Was broken, and I'm left anew.

In the aftermath of our love,
I wept for love that was impaired.
For every laugh, every tear,
Every moment we once held dear.

But time, it heals, and love, it grows,
And though you're gone, my heart still knows.
That love remains, though wounded deep,
And memories of you, I'll forever keep.
