Out Of My Mind

entry picture

I once had a vivid dream
Do you know what I mean
Are you listening as I share
Or do you really give a care
I once had a thing called hope
A feeling that helped me cope

Out of my mind
Searching for an answer
A solution of some kind
Out of my mind
Life is just a waste of time
Nirvana I hope to find
Out of my mind

I opened up my bleeding heart
It was a good way to start
What I needed was healing and love
Flying on the wings of a dove
Heaven was a destination of a kind
I searched but nothing did I find

Out of my mind
In a world of dream's
Going through the daily grind
Out of my mind
Engulfed by chronic delusion
My eyes are open but I am blind
Out of my mind

The planet is spinning out of control
Not much time to save your soul
Life is cheap does anybody care
Women and children slaughtered so there
Around the globe war rages on
Our leaders are silent all hope is gone

Out of my mind
When will the final bell toll
Are my body and soul entwined
Out of my mind
Did I every really exist
Into the unknown I am resigned
Out of my mind

Out of my mind
I was one of a kind
Out of my mind
My star it once shined
Out of my mind

Tom,
For me, your poem paints a vivid picture of a mind in turmoil, searching for meaning and struggling with both personal and global issues. The repeated refrain "Out of my mind" shows a feeling of disorientation, as though you’re caught between the desire for answers and the overwhelming weight of life’s challenges. There’s an honesty in your words that speaks to the struggle of finding peace in a world that feels uncontrollable.
Regards,
Rolph
