The Light Beyond the Past

No weight of time can chain the soul in place,
For future winds will sweep the past away.
The scars of night dissolve in dawn’s embrace,
As darkness yields before the break of day.

When shadows whisper doubts in muted tones,
The spark of hope ignites a golden fire.
What once was lost through sorrow’s heavy stones,
Now lifts with light and dreams that rise up higher.

No burden lingers when the heart can see,
That time renews what once was worn and frail.
Through shifting tides, the soul is truly free,
As love prevails where lesser voices fail.

For in the light, no sorrow dares to stay,
And night itself will bow to break of day.

Quiet and thoughtful, and I love those last two lines.
