First class pain / train

Travelled by train first class down to London

On the magnificent Pendolino

The train that bends and twists, a faster run

From north to south, but no coffee! Oh no!

Nothing to wet my mouth, not even though

It was so hot and I’d paid extra for

Those several cups that make you need to go

But make you seem important, that’s for sure

Apart from that I can’t think of a flaw

In the journey - well okay, maybe one

As usual the pretty girls were slow

To sit near me. A pity, but I saw

More in Trafalgar Square after I’d gone

To my meeting. Greetings girls, and hello!

I wish i'd taken my camera. Another chance missed to take some great pics of London. Still not done any with my digital camera. The building where the meeting took place was across the road from Big Ben. You could hear its chimes in the meeting room.

HI, Antonio

I love your utilization of your sense of humour in almost every poem. This one too is fabulous. The life moments you are in clearly paint the picture of that particular event!

Love your style in your poetry.
Great stuff!

Thank you,
Zuzanna

HI Antonio,Sounds fun, wish I could have gone to London, when I was there in 05.I did ride a train or two while there, and that was new for me, I loved it. Trains here suck, they are dirty, and trash rides on them, no peace at all. nice poem!

Time flies by when you're a passenger on a train
standing on a paper plate there and back again.
Over bridges, under bridges etc etc.
I love trains - it comes with a name like 'Thomas'.

hey yea. I used to go to London every wekend from Preston. Then they brought those pendolinos in and I instantly missed the threadbare fun of the old MK3 carriages together with the futuristic drone of the class 90 locos.

Penods are too narrow though I do love it when they tilt and twist and turn

London is exciting

glad you had a good journey
I used to write poetry on the train
like you I felt like a VIP in first class with my coffee!

I dont care for classes I just love the luxuries! (and the relative peace from the rowdy second class footie mobs)
