In Shining White I Mean To End This Day
My whole day has been swallowed again,
and I cannot view an end to this pain
that comes from such close quarters,
'ere I thought only to have supporters.
Who started all this anguish that inserts,
itself in every psyche till it truly hurts?
Why do some play these wicked games
and laugh while we ponder - what's their gain?
I know no way of finding a foot inside their secret door,
if you told me just two days ago I would now be on the floor,
I doubt I could have visualised it for it is still so bizarre
and yet there is no doubt now, on the floor is where we are.
Those vicious minds that planned those deeds
have turned friend upon their friend in need
and now I do not see a way for justice to succeed
for truth is masked by intrigues and so we all must bleed.
And so we all must bleed for the whim of who knows who?
What motivates the poisoner of minds that now can't grow,
of minds so swathed in murky fogs that hide rabid dogs from show,
when will those chilling vapours clear and let us see again,
when will they lift and with them release all of this pain?
No sainthood did I ever claim,
nor did I do things of shame,
I just remain a quiet man, not intent on any gain
but yet it seems for others deeds I am meant to shoulder blame.
But hold! I seek to make it clear to all who peer down on me,
I will yet rise as ever in times past and be completely free,
free from all the stains of the foul mud they threw my way,
no saint perhaps, but in shining white I mean to end this day....
