A spoonful of Sugar

Tonight, on Snow TV, The Apprentice

Sir Alan, business mogul (he’s unique)

Who years ago sold shit Amstrad hi-fis

And what does he do now? He’s on each week

On a charade where he pretends to seek

An employee from big-head wannabes

Well surely he employs hundreds of meek

Mild-mannered merely average nobodies

If his business is that huge, and so, please

Spare us the bullshit. Of course, all this is

Is a cheap show like Big Brother with freaks

Who want to be famous briefly, the wheeze

That Warhol talked about in the sixties

And Bros sang about in their high-pitched squeak

Back in an hour or so after I've eaten my TV dinner in front of the Apprentice, which is snowier and harder to see clearly than a polar bear playing for Leeds United in a blizzard...

◄ Did you see...?

A mathematical problem ►

HI, Antonio ~ each of your writes are entertaining and amusing! This one was nice to read too. I am not sure about the TV shows you have in your Country, but I can appreciate the writing, as not all Shows will be good. We have those too in here but I am not an avid TV watcher. Prefer reading or listening to my favourite music...Thank you for sharing your lovely poem.

Kind Regards,
Zuzanna

I agree with you totally on this and I even watch the damn thing. I guess some of us just like to see people cringe for a cheap laugh. I'm not an avid watcher of such things but if I'm eating my dinner at the same time................!?

Hi Antonioni,
I just can't watch that program. It's an immediate turn off for me, but now I'm glad it is on tv otherwise I would never have had the pleasure of reading your 'a spoonful of sugar' above.

Thanks for your comments on waterbirth.

I've seen a few episode and each time one word comes to mind begining with w and I switch over. These are supposed to be high fliers? Hardly an ounce of common sense between'em but ego's that could fill a concert hall. Thanks for the commentary.

I find myself reading your daily sonnets with pleasure. I agree with the Warhol comment on the Apprentice. Most of them end up on tv, clinging by the teeth to that weird pretty hand of fame. Also, I think this is the first time I've seen Bros referenced in a poem...
