cryogenic

entry picture

The blanket of snow you brought me
Made a mockery of my cold heart
Showed me how much I had to learn about love.
But I’m worried about the sunshine
You create in my world
Will it ever end?
I don’t want to watch your decline
As the first rays hit
Out of those dark clouds
You chased away
Just drips at first
Pure water
I could drink you
Cool on the skin
I washed my morning in you
But parts of you were slipping away
The sun smiled
But never meant any harm
The strength in my arm had to let go
Else it would be over too soon
Watching you fade away to water
Gently is the decay
And I cannot stop it
It would be wrong to freeze you
Theres no freedom in an ice box
Unless we both lived there
Some kind of cryogenic couple
In stasis
Choosing to frame the best moments of our life.

This is really good. The metaphor never slips out of your grasp of imagination or meaning. The last few lines are an excellent summary of the novel idea shot down with rationale.

I love the imagery in this - very original - don't recall anyone else comparing love to a blanket of snow...Your love poetry is always shot through with sadness - probably true to life though.

No disrespect to Stefan but I would stick with frame.
