Is There A Ghost Of A Chance?
Do ghosts dream of what might have been,
do they ever wish to haunt another place?
Are there other ghost species like cats and dogs,
or is haunting left solely to the human race?
I would like to know if the dolphins and whales
that are killed with so little compunction,
can manage to spook the killers they met
and thus in some small way gain retribution
And if in time we might learn to communicate with
those have passed on from this life by foul deed,
will we take heed of their word on what had occured
and adjust our justice systems if there's a need?
Then in time there may be new career options,
for to represent them would become a great task,
with ghost counsels for defence and plaintiff
and ghost judges with no wig, but perhaps a mask....

We could have a ouija board instead of a jury! I too like your thought processes here, and I love the way you so often get whales and dolphins into your poetry Dave! Perhaps you were a dolphin in a previous existence? xx
