sleepless

entry picture

I can walk.

In winter

before dawn.

I can walk.

Allowing me to sleep.

To sleep.

To sleep before the sun.

Nights.

Nights are so very long.

But if I wake.

I wake and walk

before the dawn.

Then life.

Then life it will be over soon.

Funny, but when I wrote this a few days ago there was no connection in my head with undead walking etc. Just the general gloom of a sleepless night. Then I happened to post it on Halloween. Hey ho!

Wot, strange that you like it? Hehe! It just came to me one sleepless night! Now we've changed the clocks I don't where I am. Well, I do know where I am, just not WHEN I am! xx

I think this can be interpreted in two ways. It's appropriate to the Halloween theme... and the living dead, vampires etc..
but i can see the references within it could be relevant to insomnia too. Nice one Ann ;-)

I can empathise with the insomnia, the ending is bleak, and I'm identifying there too. The line that intrigues - To sleep before the sun - that can be played with a bit more I think, I can see several ambiguities there anyway.
Interesting piece
