Five degrees of separation (19th Oct 2011)

entry picture

1. New Brighton Promenade:

Morrisons coffee-very good

and

reasonably priced at £1. 09

Creamer free.

A convivial chat with a couple next table.

Many things sorted.

2. Tower Promenade:

Man cycles with parrot

on his shoulder.

My brand-new cycle

remains unused-

in my living-room.

I have no parrot.

3. Magazine Promenade:

On this blustery day,

a group of sadly smiling

mourners await hiatus

to pour ashes into the choppy sea.

I hope such smiles attend my departure.

I want no cross.

4.  Egremont Promenade:

I am photographed

as the sea breaks over

behind me.

I am imortalised.

My camera is in my bag.

5. Seacombe Promenade:

An Ian Brown look-a-like

cycles past on one wheel-

Knees akimbo.

He looks silly.

I am glad the Stone Roses have reformed.

I am reminded of my un-used bike's mortality.

1) Nice last line 2) Really? I was in a pub once when someone walked in with an owl on his shoulder! True 3) A great moment, moaybe could be expanded into a longer piece. 4)I stayed in Egremont recently! Wet / cold. 5) Nice snapshot. Enjoyed the journey. Win x

Love the journey..that walk is wonderful..did you then take the ferry?

I hope such smiles attend my departure.
I want no cross...corker..

I think I know that bloke with the parrot..wonder if it was the same one I saw with the bunny on a lead and the parrot on his shoulder?..and the Stone Roses reform as Westlife break up..good news all round..

I like this, the setup is nice and original, which is the most important function of a poem, look forward to hearing more.
