Chance to be published: Flarestack Poets pamphlet competition
Flarestack Poets have launched their 2012 pamphlet competition, with two winners' pamphlets published in late spring 2012. Each winner will receive £300 and 20 copies of their winning pamphlet. A selection of outstanding individual poems will be published in an anthology. Winners and authors of poems in the anthology will be invited to read at a launch event in the West Midlands. The closing date is 1 February 2012. The entry fee is £20. Judges: Meredith Andrea and Jacqui Rowe. The judges will read all entries, which will be submitted anonymously.
Flarestack Poets' first pamphlet competition in 2008 led to the publication of Advice On Wearing Animal Prints by Selima Hill and Wake by Cliff Forshaw which were both extremely successful, Advice On Wearing Animal Prints going on to win the Michael Marks award for pamphlet of the year. Two shortlisted poets, Laura Seymour and Caleb Klaces, saw their subsequent collections published by Flarestack Poets.
