JUBILEE JOY - welcoming our guests
Dear valued visitor...
So glad to see you here,
The warmest of warm welcomes
In this very special year -
When we celebrate a diamond Queen
Upon an ancient throne,
While Olympic gems will have a sheen
With royalty of their own.
Our land is proudly on parade,
Its capital playing host,
With traditions that will never fade
(Though it's not our way to boast).
The best of now and what will be
Will meet beneath the Crown;
The World is coming here to see
The show in London town.
So step this way for Olympic dreams
And a country rich in its Queen;
We humbly hope this year gleams
With the best that's ever been.
And when at last you must depart
We hope you'll keep us in your heart.

I love the way the Queen manages to unite so many in this old country of ours...not forgetting vast numbers abroad. I even found myself watching a late night CBS (USA) news report of HM's visit to Epsom for The Derby and they did her proud. We can forget how much she means to the rest of the world and no matter whether you are a monarchist or a republican, her value to the UK and its people cannot be over-estimated.
Harry's latest post is a fitting tribute.
Three Cheers!
