Steph Pike and Steven Waling are July’s guests at Once More With Meaning, Bury’s singular open mic night. The event takes place at a large performance space at the Met theatre, accessible on Sunday 1 July via The Automatic restaurant. Open micers should bring two poems - and there's a prize for the best one. Steph Pike is a performance poet and activist. Her first collection of poetry Full of the Deep Bits was published in 2010. She is the Sheffield Grand Dame of Slam 2011 and runs a poetry night in Manchester called Word Up. Experimental poet Steven Waling is excited by words and languages and keeps finding them all over the place.
