Oblivious

Washing up is a mysterious thing

that happens in the kitchen

normally after meals

although he is never completely sure of this.

Sometimes he decides to be helpful

and takes a glass, a mug or a tea-plate out

placing it down right in the middle

of a cleared, washed down work-top,

completely ignoring that neat little stack

of dirty crockery over in the corner

under the window, whether or not

they are currently being washed up.

After all, it is not up to him to interfere

with what wifey has going on over at the sink.

Is it?

LOL - I'd like to say that I know how you feel but I don't - my ex was as neat as neat could be - it was me who got things all wrong :)

I didn't moan at him at all, Stef - just wrote this poem instead, which he agreed with!

Our colour scheme must be the reverse of yours - we have apple-mint green kitchen and bright yellow hallway, which Colin normally does with a little help from me, so it's only the meal getting (and clearing up after it) that seems to be a mystery with him. Oh, and the washing machine....

OH Lynn!
stop moaning and be like me
the happy pot washer
and taxi driver
and bill payer
and d.i.y doer(as in presently painting the kitchen in vomit yellow and the hallway
in madhouse green according to her wot
must be obeyed-
oh-did I mention being her sex slave
as well?.....yumyum.xx
