Reality Check

Amongst the crowd
She never noticed me
Not one glance
But she was all I could see

It seemed unreal
Not quite right
That she was there
She’s your wife

My dreams crushed
My heart torn
I slip away
Irrelevant and small

Amongst the crowd
She never noticed me
Not one glance
But she was all I could see

Not necessarily guilt, Anthony. It could be a feeling of sorrow, jealousy, failure or a mixture of all three. I think the 'irrelevant and small' sums it up nicely.

If I'd had to give it a title, it would have been 'Less than..'. You convey that message well.

I guess that'll be guilt then Katy! Nicely observed.

On his shoulder
Vulture sitting still
Repeating diplomatic fashion
Seeing her again?

Dramatic ,I could feel the tension and drama in so few lines.I like the way you have ended it with a repeat of the openning verse-most effective. Well done !!
