What really annoys me is the impression some people have of the people from Wigan, particularly those people who sterotype us.

Some of us Wiganers are really quite posh and stuck up and get quite offended when referred to as pie eaters 'although I do realise the pie eaters phrase is derived from a miners strike or something similar' most people are actually referring to pies.

Some of us are educated, well dressed,smart people.

Some of us have excellent manners whatever our profession or hobby .

There are plenty of desirable places to live in the Wigan area and plenty of nice, kind, talented educated, sensitive people live and work in Wigan.

I've lived in Wigan all my life and commend the Wigan council on all their efforts to improve this lovely small town, that I love.
