Paint It Beige
I see a garage door and want it painted beige
I’ve come to realise this colour’s all the rage
I see the girls go by dressed in their summer clothes
They don’t appreciate beige fashions, I suppose.
I see a line of cars all different, I would guage
Just think how better they would look if they were beige
I have to turn my head and quickly look away
And seek for something beige to buy without delay.
I shop for cardigans and ask if they stock beige
It’s really your best colour if you are of certain age
Though I looked hard enough and shopped to dusk from dawn
The closest I could find were cardigans in fawn.
But, wait a minute, here are trousers found in beige
But knowing my luck they’ll be XOS I’ll wage
They outlawed ageism to set Old Codgers free
But practice beigeism with full impunity.
