bullies are often very quiet indeed. some may sneak a call to the police, speak v e r y quietly for to use the force of the law to make a petty point. Its sirens as a noise on ones side.. I agree with you its a deafening wall that hits a sailor returning home to a city by the sea. the deaf are most powerful of all in a world where injustice tampers with the volume levels of decency and the telly is always too loud and distracting. if one is quiet for long enough one will begin to hear a slow starting avalanche of quiet powdery snow like letters slip into a steep decline and walls of ice crashing down around someone silently unable to just tell the truth. They will sit like the smug octave that started the splitting of the bell. they have hot lips and live in the noise of other men's equally desperate words. its shout or be shouted down. its a seething sense of silence and resentment that may soak it all up and have to choke on the absence cos if you havent got the words you could always just try to sing a bit clearer…
.
from 'letters to somone' snippets of otherwise long and drawn out moments of having nobody to tell.
i write for the audacity of myself to want to make a point quietly for a change. i write sometimes letters for the times i couldnt keep up or didnt know what to say cos the noise was deafening.i have more. a lot more.
